I was invited to the Panama Canal Centennial celebrations at the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. The university’s library houses the Panama Canal Museum Collection and my book HOW TEDDY TOOK PANAMA has been added to the collection.

At the Centennial banquet I presented a copy of my book to the Teddy Roosevelt reprisor who entertained us after dinner. It was a wonderful evening and I have added a number of pics to the photo gallery section of the blog.

Kudos, David, for an excellent history lesson and an excellent read. It is especially moving for me, a permanent resident of the Republic of Panama ("hogar dulce hogar") to have completed HOW TEDDY TOOK PANAMA the first of November 2014 just as the country prepares for the celebration of independence from Colombia on 3 November. I also gave a copy of your book to my Uncle Harold McKinney in Kansas who has probably read everything there is to read about the Panama Canal. He's very much a Panama Canal "authority" and I know he will love your historical novel. Thanks from both of us.
